Can I get the really bright color from the Roland pigment 8 color
printer as I am seeing off the HP 5000 Thermal printer?
Can colormangement handle this or is the hue of the pigment inks the
limiting factor?
IMHO, the Roland Hexachrome pigment inks are nearly as bright as dye
inks in the green-red portion of the gamut, but blues are not so hot.
But this is really a no-brainer -- does it need to last longer than a
few years? If so, you're going to have to find the brightest
pigmented inks you can find, and live with it. If not, just go with
dyes -- they're not only brighter, they're cheaper as well.
BTW: Roland also supports bright dye inks, at least in their
six-color printers.
