Based on your experience with color management...
Can I get the really bright color from the Roland pigment 8 color
printer as I am seeing off the HP 5000 Thermal printer?
Can colormangement handle this or is the hue of the pigment inks the
limiting factor?
We looked at HP5000. The basic fact is dye is bright and doesn't
last. Pig is duller, though the expanded OrGrLcLm inkset brings the
brightness up considerably, even competing with a lot of the dye work
I've seen and, depending on ink manufacturer, they have data to
support longevity claims. HP says their coming out with a 5000
version next month which supports PIGinks. If you're set on the HP,
then wait. If you want a workhorse, go Roland. If you to wonder about
it all, go Epson. And, if you really want to top it all off with a
world of wonders, go Colorspan.
( just gettin' ma digs in:} )
