Short version: Do you have any idea why the white patches don't look alike
when I try to calibrate my monitor? And do I have to buy another one?
History: I bought this Sony 19" G400 last April. Within a few months it
developed a blue stain on the upper right quadrant of the screen. I snet it
to Sony and they sent it back to me without a stain. However the monitor
always seemed red to me but I correct mostly by the numbers so it didn't
matter much... now I am trying to profile the monitor with Monacoview and I
can't get the white patches to look alike no matter how I set the brightness
and contrast. So I got the black ones barely distinguishable and go aheaad
with Monaco View. Monaco View tells me "bad data" and to go again. I called
a friend in MIS and he told that my guns are probably off and that I have to
replace the monitor. Seems they have a monitor they sent to Sony for repairs
5 or 6 times and it is still bad. So they advise me to just buy another one.
Any thoughts?
