I have successfully implemented at a couple of sites setting up numerous
Desktop printers on a Mac. Since they are seen as different printers under
the LaserWriter driver the user can select a different print *que*. Each
desktop printer/que can have different settings like paper trays, color
matching, etc. . For example, this workflow is especially nice for a
designer who prints from PS6. You can specify an output profile in the PS6
pull down menu in LaserWriter 8 driver and save that setting with the chosen
desktop printer. Select another desktop printer and chose a different paper
tray and output profile.
You're a tease, Dan! How do you do this?
When I try to use the Desktop Printer Utility to create a second
desktop printer for a given physical printer, it tells me there can
only be one desktop printer per physical printer.
