Its purpose is to make up for pilot error... if you (or others using the
machines) are prone to messing with settings you don't understand and might
not notice if the wrong profile is being used for the monitor, then such a
helper can actually be a help (I mention this due to the edu extension on
your address, schools are prone to such problems). But it causes a type of
conflict between what the OS thinks is the current monitor profile, and what
has actually been loaded, so I feel that competant users who will check on
their monitor profile once in a while would be better off shuttting it off in
the Extensions Manager.
