Andrea,
You said "I scan my files using a CreoScitex EverSmart Supreme scanner" -- I
highly recommend checking out the CreoScitex oXYgen workflow. It takes full
advantage of your scanner and addresses the high-bit depth / repurposing
concerns you have. I copied this from their web site: "the EverSmart oXYgen
Scan module enables you to capture all the information of the original
image, save it as a 16 bit Digital Transparency (DT) file allowing accurate
reproduction of the original image. Using the EverSmart oXYgen Open module,
you can retrieve the DT file offline and repurpose the image locally or
remotely, for any use, as many times as you like, at highest quality and
with complete output predictability"
If you made the leap to the EverSmart, then you may as well use it to its
full advantage.
Good Luck!
Jim
