Jeff,
Everybody on this list knows how to reach me. IMHO, I am VERY gracious and
will spend time talking with ANYBODY. I am extremely frank and you know
exactly where I stand on EVERY topic.
*You have backed me into a corner, not good.*
You have called me once, maybe twice, in the fall of 2000. I repeatedly
called you leaving my name and number eliciting a response, offering you
answers to your questions.
If you have a question about a relationship that I clearly defined on this
list several months ago, you should ask the ALL parties involved before
reopening this can of worms.
This is ridiculous that I have to take valuable time of my own and those who
read this list for technical information to respond to this AGAIN!
One more time for the record, the decision to sever ties was made ENTIRELY
for technical reasons. "The relationship was altered for business" is
completely false. Praxisoft is extremely aggressive in the sales cycle and
even we could not sell it as developed. I challenge you to sell that RIP
today and prove me otherwise. Praxisoft spent the better part of eight
months collaborating on that project. Do you honestly think something other
than the ability to deliver a USABLE, WORKING product (read technical
reasons) had anything to do with the demise of this relationship?
I take great offense to the notion that business people would actually
consider such things to be valid. I put my job on the line sustaining that
relationship, even as I watched our revenues get impacted month after month
after month. All based on the promises of final delivery of a shipping
version "next week".
Now you can take my word for it or not, I am too busy making up for lost
revenues due to Colorbyte RIPs that my customers have sent back because they
are too clumsy, don't install correctly or offer poor color.
Stop spreading innuendoes with your open questions and request facts from
those involved. And Mr. "Paul Frehely" at frenchlick@altavista, you can
stop propagating lies cowardly hidden off-list.
Jeff, if you would like to contribute information about Mach 1 RIP after
having actually reviewed it, fine this is the forum to offer your opinion.
However, I don't believe you are at all interested in the technical OR
business aspects of Praxisoft's products. Your obligation to "mention this
after seeing some recent posts on the list praising the RIP" seems awfully
loaded. Read your post again and you will see what I mean (read: I've had a
lot of contact with ColorByte...). The fact is, if you were genuinely
concerned, you would have called me. You might have even asked for an
evaluation copy, it has been available for quite some time.
This is not a soap opera, it is business. Give the members of this list
some credit and treat them with the professionalism they are entitled to.
Best Regards,
Robert
