Hello,
I have a concern about the ColorChecker DC, different from the one Robin
Myers posted yesterday. I'm wondering about the integrity of the patches
themselves.
On each of the several ColorChecker DC targets I have seen, a number of the
patches (especially in the blues & greens) show this problem: an obvious
variation of color & density across the square. Typically, the outside edges
of the square are "clouded" (for lack of a better term) - appearing lighter
& slightly desaturated compared to the center portion of the same square.
Have others with this target seen this issue?
I'm also wondering about the implications...
Reading the target with our SpectroCam, I know it's reading from the central
portion of each square. I don't know whether profile creation software also
reads a central "spot" or a larger area of each square. But the thought that
the software is reading squares containing such obvious variation - well, it
doesn't help build confidence in the accuracy of input profiles.
Any list members have observations/comments on this?
Thanks,
John
