I agree with Mr. Blevins,
The Rampage RIP kicks some serious butt.
I may live to far out in the country - but -
I don't see how anyone can live these days
without OPI.
The Rampage also has a couple features
making it priceless.
-- Rip once output many :
It is so nice to RIP to a final file then backstep
the ripped data back to any proofing device.
Send entire imposed press sheets
(marx and bars and all)
to laserwriter even, for quick checks.
-- Trapping
Automatic and - especially, manual trapping -
in Rampage is so sweet it is scarey.
---
HOWEVER
So far Rampage ( to my knowledge )
has yet to act as server for output profiles.
It can handle linerization and curves and I hear
profile management is to be included in the
next upgrade - at a hefty price, I am sure.
ALSO
I find Rampage weak in the creation of PDFs.
It is nice to be able to have the ability to
create PDFs from ripped data -
just the quality seems marginal as of yet.
