It has been a while Darrin,

The earlier version of the Mach 1 RIP which you tested in February is the
version we collaborated on with ColorByte (Sorry!). The current version of
the Praxisoft Mach 1 RIP has almost, if not all, of the features you
required originally.

"Chooser-level" printing to "desktop printer" from a Macintosh is supported
in the Praxisoft Mach 1 RIP.

We totally agree on the need for this feature. That is exactly why the Mach
1 RIP has extensive, intuitive controls for Ink Limit, Density and
Linearization directly in the print environment completely separate from the
profiling process.

I apologize for lack of communication. As I have not received any requests
personally, I had assumed after the previous experience, you had moved on to
other products such as BEST to fulfill your customers requirement. I am
very pleased to hear you are still interested.

>Finally, The BEST does not fit all models, as it is sold as a 'one rip - one
>printer' product. I have a customer running 3 HP3500 + 2 HP3000 + 1 HP5000
>all from the one PosterShop rip.

I am not familiar with BESTColor's multiple-device support but I can tell
you that Mach 1 *will not* RIP files to all six printers simultaneously.
Mach 1 RIP ships complete with all supported drivers except for specialty
printers such as ColorSpan which carry a premium. It *will* support or
print to multiple printers, with multiple RIP support currently being
developed. Expect some very different and exciting things becoming
available in the future for high-volume production printing from Mach 1 RIP.

>I hope this helps those with questions, and gets me an updated demo of the
>latest Mach 1 Rip :)

Thanks for asking, I hope I was able to give you some preliminary answers.
I will send you a demo right away.

MachPeace, its the feel-good manifesto of the new Millennium.

Best Regards,

Robert
