Our reprographics department recently acquired one of these with
(unfortunately) the Fiery RIP. Since I cannot work out from either the
confusing, ambiguous and condescending documentation or the user
interface how to switch off all color correction in order to print a
profiling target, I searched my ColorSync list archive and found the
following interesting post from Jeff Harmon, dated last Thursday:

I ran a test simulation of 3 documents with a variety of color fabric scans

(around 40 total) on a Xerox DocuColor 12 with the Imation RIP, a Splash

G620 Server Station, and an EFI RIP (don't remember the model) and compared

the results a while back.

(Side note: all EFI RIPs selling these days allow input,

simulation, AND output profiles, so let's put that complaint to rest!)
While EFI now magnanimously allows you to add custom profiles to their
system, there seems to be no procedure that makes it possible to produce
one - at least, as mentioned above, I cannot find one. Could Jeff or
some other Fiery-savvy member kindly show me the light (if there is
any...)?
