first i want to appologize for everyoine who got a message saying that
email@hidden was rejecting emails....i was forwarding there
and didnt know that would happen......hmm, can you guess what color my
imac and ibook are?
second i wanna thank everyone for the help in getting my wanna-be duotone
printed EXACTLY the way I wanted it from Modern Postcard.
the solution was:
convert greyscale to cmyk and loose all info from magenta and yellow chanels.
But this left me with blown out highlights and too much cyan. So I went
back to the original greyscale image and copied and pasted that into the
black chanel of the CMYK image. And, basically, that left me with a
duotone...
..i then toned down the cyan, crossed my fingers, and sent the files off.
The package came last week and I was standing at the door to grab the
package when it was delivered....of course, my boss was standing right
there and all i could think was "oh, PLEASE be right". As soon as we
opened up the box and saw them, I got a big "high five" and spent the
rest of the day finally convinced that I know what I am doing.
lastly, a question about inks. OEM means from the manufacturer of the
printer right? any suggestions on non-OEM inks? Here at The Image Works,
where we are mostly printing out uncorrected digital proofs to send to
clients, we have got a few Epson 800s (I can not even believe how much
use these things have seen, and they still run) and we just aquired an
HP 2250tn. Now, neither of these printers need to give us high quility
prints with terrific color, but they need to be good enough that someone
wouldn't reject the idea of using the image based on that print!!!. We
would like to be able to use lower cost consumables considering the quantity
of these prints we send out. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with
this that they can share? any reccomendations of where to purchase these
inks?
