So, i am new to InDesign, and as someone who uses Quark a lot and is
comfortabl
e using many adobe products, i LOVE this program. All the tools seem
to be where they belong and it didnt take me long to figure the software
out. BUT, there is now the question of color managment.
I have an image that has been created in Photoshop. The numbers seem
good, what i see on my screen looks good and what i print from photoshop
looks right. I've got all my text set in Indesign, and few vector
illustration
s that i will need to match with the colors from the image. i grabbed
CMYK values from the info pallet in Photoshop to chose colors for the
text and illustrations, and what I see in InDesign looks ok. A little
flat but still ok, and the illustrations match the imported picture.
So, all seems ok so far. Now comes time to make a test print, and it
seems that no matter what combinations of settings i use, i get a print
that is quite dull and on the very red side of blue. (the background of
the image is a muted kind of sky-blue that is more on the cyan side than
the pink side). I use an Epson Stylus Photo EX, and it is usually quite
acurate. (keep in mind that most of my clients are usually not color
ball-busters) So, my not being familiar with InDesign's color managment,
i need to be pointed in the right direction. In the 2 areas of the program
where you deal with CM, what are the appropriate settings? There are
applicatio
n settings and also document settings. if i turn color managemtn off
in the document settings the screen image becomes lime green!!!! i didnt
even try printing that one.
If possible, please cc any replies to email@hidden when replying
to this message, as i do not have access to this account 24/7.
thanks.
