Hi! I'm a newbie when it comes to ColorSync so here are a few questions -
please bear with me on this!
I'm trying to calibrate the workflow in a commercial print house and have a
few problems. Here's what I've got and what I know so far...
I have an AGFA it8 card for scanning, monitor calibrator and software, an
AGFA Taipan RIP and AGFA AccuSet 800 imagesetter. I know all the L*a*b*
values for our inks, press got gain etc. What I'm stuck on is how to create
a CMYK profile!?
Using Photoshop I'm able to set all my ink values, dotgain, GCR etc. But I
can't find a way to create a profile from Photoshop that I can use in
QuarkXPress!? The colours on-screen are pretty much spot on in Photoshop but
in QuarkXPress they're pants!
I've got a copy of AGFA ColorTune 3.0 which came with our scanner (AGFA
DuoScan T2000XL), but this won't let me create an output profile!!! I can
create input and monitor profiles but not an output profile - apparently I
have to pay to upgrade to the Pro version in order to do this. I'm reluctant
to spend the money if there's an easy way around this problem...
Does anybody have any suggestions? Maybe I'm doing a few things wrong!?
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Juergen May
