Yes there is a Delat E Bewtween earthquake values but unlike Color Delta E
which is derived by taking the square root of the numbers involved in the
calculation (The Square root of the sum of the squares)
The Richter Scale is expoetential so those little decimal points mean huge
differences a 6.2 upgraded to a 7.0 is actually 800,000 time more shake
rattle and roll which is why the destructive difference between a 7 and 8 is
the difference between some broken glass and an apocalyptic event. An 8 is a
million times more shake than a seven, a 9 a billion more times then an 8
I knew that geology course would come in handy some day.
