Binuscan CMS

Has anyone any comments on or experience with the Binuscan CMS, which uses
a profiled and calibratead scanner to measure printed targets instead of
using a photospectrometer ?
Of course this is a less scientific/precise method but how much will this
affect the output profiles and printed results that are generated this way
? Our goal is to match a QMS MagiColor 330 to print proofs for a heatset
color press.
Is this feasible, and what would be requirements for the scanner ?

Any comments are appreciated,

R.J. Janssen
