Would you please elaborate, what is different about ProfileMaker 3X
or >Printopen 4 profiles?
Just download the iQueue manual from the GretagMacbeth site. It gives
you a matrix for matching single channel grayscale objects in PDF /
PostScript / EPS to four channel profiles - without getting four
channel 'grayscales'.
I've explained this on the List many times going back three years
because it's an old ProfileMaker 2X / BatchMatcher 1X feature. It's
now also supported with Printopen 4.
Also, what Rip are you using with the HP5000PS?
The HP5000PS has an internal RIP (hence the PS postfix) with
'Emulation' disabled for both CMYK and RGB both in the HP / PS driver
and in the RIP display. ('Emulation' works as described in the Inkjet
profilig ABC I posted in January.)
I'm testing a bunch of third party papers, some look promising.
The 5000PS has a gamut volume about the same size as the Iris, as you
can see both in Heidelberg Coloropen 4 (both Viewopen, Scanopen and
Printopen 4 for PC now compare two gamut volumes superimposed) and in
Steve's ColorThink. I never could get those guys at Scitex in
Waterloo to let me have a print or two back in 99, and I'm not
bothering this time around. I have the base Iris data in Printopen 4
and that's reliable enough for me.
