Hmm ... try the HP5000PS with GretagMacbeth iQueue 140 in front for
size -:). I'm happily playing and learning these days.

In order to work with full pages that mix grayscale and CMYK objects
(PostScript and PDF 1.3) you must use ProfileMaker 3X profiles, or
optionally Printopen 4 profiles.

I had great success with PrintOpen (v4) and grayscale only using skeleton black profiles but, alas, we sent PO back. Mixed grayscale/cmyk I didn't have enough time to check. Now, using Color Profiler in the Scanvec-Amiable PhotoPrintServer Color Profiler package, GCR is my only option. Anyone here know the Color Profiler package? Is it created by S-A? I was under the impression (don't know how) it was a trimmed down version of Profilemaker licenced to S-A.

Also: re: grayscale I have GCR options No Black, Minimum, Light, Medium, Heavy, Maximum. Maximum gives me reasonable inkjet (Roland) results for Grayscale and mixed Grayscale/CMYK as long as I'm pushing it through CMYK only channels in our Roland/ScanvecAmiable RIPS. (Six and eight ink setups pitch cyan into my quartertones.) The mixed Grayscale/cmyk Maximum GCR setups are nice to look at but not a match for proofing when we pitch our files at our Panther RIP and matchprint. Key comparisons show the Panther prefers Medium GCR across the board and the Rolands want Heavy or Maximum for proofing. Any recommendations?
