Is it created by S-A? I was under the impression (don't know
how) it was a trimmed down version of Profilemaker licenced to S-A.
You don't honestly expect anybody who knows will answer, or anybody
who doesn't will report correctly? It's not worth asking.
If you want a product, buy it.
I prefer to read what you have to write regarding color so this will
be my only public post regarding this matter:
In response to your response...
We did. PPS ver.2.0 and then a 2.5 upgrade from Scanvec-Amiable via
Roland via their local sales rep Cadillac Plastic. Registered user.
No manual (ongoing debate), poor support and the same long pauses and
blank stares regarding color management I've received since Colorsync
v2.0 emerged and I began dragging newspaper production offices into
color workflows. Now I am at a
ServiceBureau/GraphicArts/LargeFormatPrinting company. Convincing my
current employer the ability to write profiles was a worthwhile
investment was difficult enough, let alone telling him to pitch more
dollars at yet another solution. The decision to go with SA was a
long discussion in anticipation there would be difficulties. I had to
produce results (pretty much in the dark) and I have (in part thanks
to people like yourself and others on this list). If we were large
enough to pick up every app that suits every singular need and gets
results, this employer is one who would do just that.
So welcome to Canada (where US 1-800 only works in some areas some of
the time and dialing direct gets you rerouted back to your local
sales rep).
Visit their website at:
http://www.scanvec-amiable.com/
Downloads? Updates? The Power of software
"Scanvec Amiable would like to apologize for any inconvenience while we
update our downloads section."
(for the past three months)
And then then read in their archives that v1.0 and v2.x don't support
embedded ICCs. My response regarding our then ordered v2.5 upgrade:
"Your inquiry was received on: 02/20/2001 14:31 EST
Your response is estimated to be issued on: 02/21/2001 22:31 EST"
(Still waiting: A copy of my this transaction may be forwarded to you
upon request but it is not my intention that you or any others get
involved in my consumer/vendor misunderstandings and
miscommunications.)
I'm also very, very used to extremely qualified people telling me where to go.
ps: I never stop asking because I just like to know. :)
your faithful servant
