What a miserable way to treat a customer. But what I meant was that
just as in fonts where everybody carries everybody else's products
through cross-licensing, in color management you also may not know
exactly whose technology is OEM'ed. Therefore, if you want
GretagMacbeth ProfileMaker or whatever else, then the only way I know
of is to fork out for the branded box. I thought you were asking
whether those decidedly non-amiable ScanVec folks were OEM carriers
of ProfileMaker, and I honestly don't have a clue. Nor would ScanVec
tell you or me, I'm sure. Hence the reply.
Well noted. And excuse me for being snippy. Sensative subject. I'm a
very sensitive guy...especially when I don't see red in my Siam
Sunset.
I'm also most likely the kind of consumer that drives manufacturers
nuts because I know the carrot is attached to a string, to a stick,
to a hand, to a head...I might note, however, I've often felt like
sending Gretag a royalty, because I learn and have learned more from
the Profilemake's downloadable manuals than I have from any other
available documentation/explanation re: profiling. I know this may
sound sick, but it's a good read. Know of any others?
The documentation provided with PPS reminds me why missile silos have
two operators: there's a chance one of the two might know what the
button really does.
...back to ink limits and HP's. Thanks, as ever, for your input.
