Apple monitors are about half way to being calibrated, via their own
routines, but don't expect perfection from that. Another issue is that your
Stylus 900 is not as accurate as it would be with a custom profile either.
And finally we come to the idea of proofing press output... Photoshop 6
allows a pretty good imitation of this for images, but only with accurate
monitor and inkjet profiles, which you are still lacking; page layouts are
not as simple, and you should not expect a proof of a Quark document without
a fairly expensive RIP/color proofing system.
