Softproofing in AI9 is broken, there's no other word for it.

Choosing ICC print production profiles for ISO 12647-1 glossy offset and ISO 12647-3 newsprint makes only a barely perceivable difference.

Opening the Proof Setup dialog shows that the default simulations space is a matrix-based RGB working space every time. The idea seems to be to do RGB previews for web publishing.

Rendering intents are only specified for ICC printer profiles. I wonder if AI902 actually puts hooks into the ICC CMYK printer profiles?

A case of skipped beta testing, maybe.
