Subject: ICC Profiles
When using ICC profiles in PS 5.5, the black point compensation is
not selected. In PS 6.0 the color in the CMYK conversion is greatly
distorted with a deep brownish cast. The Cast will go away when
black point compensation is checked. Why doesn't the same rules
apply from 5.5 to 6.0?
Because you've probably got a really badly made profile, and
Photoshop 6.0 changed the black point compensation to make it work
better with most of the bad profiles we've seen.
