This is probably old news to most of you, but maybe some newbies could
benefit:
My earlier question:
Another question: when exiting photocal colorsync pops up a check button
saying you have now created a profile. I check that, and then the photocal
window says don't alter anything, etc, so I click the forward button to exit
photocal, and the monitor changes color completely; the contrast comes down
and the grey changes too. Is this supposed to happen? During photocal, the
monitor seems bright and contrasty, as I would expect having the cont. all
the way up. But then upon exiting, it looks not unlike what it did before
the calibration. Granted, I am only comparing how it looked from one
photocal calibration to the next. So maybe there is not that much
difference....
turns out I had a "silver" backgound selected in apple menu>control
panels>appearance>desktop>patterns. This due to the screen background
defalut choice on the g4 laptop running the screen.
Selecting "grey" has provided a neutral backgound, albeit bright.
