This seems to be a recurring topic lately (or maybe I'm following too many
lists!). I'd still lean towards PS6 vs. a RIP/color server for one simple
reason: choice of rendering intent. With a RIP, you're forced to go with a
single intent, AFAIK, whereas with PS6 you can choose. As a side note, I'd
always use "Convert to Profile" as opposed to a simple Mode change so I
could preview prior to conversion the affect the different rendering intents
would have on the image.

Best? As in BESTColor RIP? This would be different as this is a PROOFING
RIP, not the RIP used for final film/plate output. Two different animals and
the profiles would be set up differently.

ACE. There's a few bugs that can crop up using some of the other CMMs.
