With PhotoShop 6.0 now, is it better to do rgb-cmyk conversion in PS or on
the rip.
In my experience it is better to do this in the RIP although I do not have
much experience of Best. One thing to make sure of though and that is that
the output profile set within PS6 matches the input profile within the RIP.
I would not recommend setting the printer profile as the output profile
unless you intend to bypass the colour management settings within the RIP.
Under conversion options this is where a have a two questions
For "Engine" should I use the Heidelberg engine since my printer profile
came from Print Open? or should I just use the Adobe (ACE)
Should I leave Black Point Comp. check or unchecked ?
I use the Heidleberg engine for all of my profiling so I am bias towards it,
but have had problems incorporating it into PS6 - perhaps you could help me
with one! and by default I would leave the BPC unchecked.
