I stand corrected Mr. Macy. I do understand that the color management
offered in a Fiery is ICC based and it delivers reasonable out of the
box performance while allowing a user to import various simulation
profiles.
However we have found that a RIP must be able to allow the user to
build a profile for the device they are driving and call on that new
profile in the RIP. This is the only way to get proofing quality from
a digital device. I (and my customers) have not found anyway to do
this with the Fiery product. Sorry if I have misled anyone on the
list to believe differently.
