I just finished an article testing the ACD and Eyeone spectro. Basically the
ACD is pretty damm good as long as you don't move your head too far from
being parrallel to the screen. In most retrouching sessions this won't be a
problem unless you have a client looking over your shoulder <g>.
The profiles I created w/ ACD and compared to a CRT showed different
color characteristics. The CRT was able to display much stronger (saturated)
blues and cyans while the ACD shined in the yellows and reds. Basically if
you want to see printable cyan the ACD may not be the best choice. A real
nice side benefit of ACD is almost no cross over curves ( color casts in
grey scale steps) compared to a CRT. I was able to get uniform neutrality
across the entire tonal scale, something that is next to impossible with
most CRT screens.
