controlling rgb ink limits?

I am wondering why controlling ink limits for rgb files is limited to the media setting in the print dialog box? This is not enough control for some combinations of inkjet inks and papers.

If the means of control is by adjusting the sliders then when profiling I suppose a person ought to tweek the sliders, cross their fingers and then "remember" that combination for use with that profile. This is a different procedure than choosing "no color adjustment" which I believe is customary for profile building.

Is there a way or some rgb profiling package that allows for adjusting ink limits for rgb printing? If not why?

Thank you kindly for any enlightenment.

Joseph
