Ah I was wondering how you got precise information on dot gain from a
profile. I thought you were seeing the dot gain in the profile. Certain
tools let you look at channel curves. PrintOpen shows an approximate
deviation from normal press gain after reading the chart.

This I've done and it has worked fine.
