You are not using the PostScript version of the HP 5000, as far as I

understand, so in-RIP emulation can't be the cause.
That's right, but there's surely happening some kind of "simulation", i.e.
the HP5000 simulating your reference machine (described with the CMYK input
profile).
First, there surely may be a problem in the input profile. What happens if
you convert a greyscale image rel col from this profile into Lab (in
Photoshop)? If you do not see/measure the green cast there (which really is
a quick and efficient test), the problem should be "somewhere" in the RIP
(Onyx Postershop).
Typical problems in LFP in general and in the Postershop/HP5000 combo in
particular may be:
- Postershop/HP5000-specific: Are you sure you carefully calibrated the
media settings? That is, first setting the ink restrictions, then doing a
linearisation?
- LFP-specific: Since everyone for some reason wants to save an additional
few cents (or, Pfennige:-) the media manufacturers have been using optical
brighteners in their products. Did you do the readings with or without a UV
filter? And, even worse: From the time when I had two Encad printers as my
production machines I still remember one special sort of ink causing a lot
of problems when not using a UV filter.
Hope those three suggestions help you overcome your problems,
Jo Euler
