if I'm using only photoshop to make my prints - everything it's all right
You mean that as between Photoshop raster-only documents there is no
evident inconsistency ...
if I'm trying to print from QuarkXpress 4x (mac) the vector objects
allways look's like diferent from the image objects
... but between QuarkXPress 4 placed raster objects and vector
objects drawn in the layout or placed from another application there
is evident inconsistency within the same page?
QuarkXPress applies the same ICC conversion to the RGB to output CMYK
transform as it does to the output CMYK to proof CMYK transform, so
you never get a proof.
Only placed TIFF objects are color managed, placed EPS and placed PDF
are not color managed.
Vector objects drawn in the layout are not consistently color
managed. There is a problem in the way the Quark CMS v2 and the
QuarkXPress PostScript engine co-operate, or rather don't co-operate.
(Note that in all fairness many of the same reservations apply to
InDesign 1.5.)
I'm searching for workarounds to fix it.
Hang in there while the Quark CMS 3 in QuarkXPress 5 is being tested.
ICC profile's generated from PS6. Is the best way?
No, use standards-based ISO and TR001 output profiles e.g. from
www.profilecentral.com (cf ColorSync Users List Digest Vol 2 # 615).
the most complete EyeONE pack, will be
the answer of all my needs?
It will create profiles from Agfa, Fuji and Kodak IT8 targets using
the same presets as ProfileMaker Professional 3.1.
It will create profiles for both Mac and PC monitors for the price of
just one licence.
It will create profiles for digital color printers and presses using
the same separation presets as ProfileMaker Professional 3.1.
It will let you send printer test chart measurements to a friend or
consultant who owns ProfileMaker Professional, if you need custom
separation settings. It does not matter whether your friend or
consultant is using ProfileMaker for Mac or PC, nor whether you are
using Eye-One Match for Mac or PC.
I'm trying to profiling a laser printer (CS225) with a Fiery rip (E 310)
Unfortunately, no ICC profiling application can make your toner-based
printer stable or your RIP run either in slave mode, printing by the
numbers the PostScript CMYK values you send, or in master mode, using
ICC printer profiles to carry out the transforms you request.
If you can be more specific about your Fiery RIP version and how you
set it up, there are many here on the list (including the product
manager from time to time) who will be able to help you.
