I'm a fan of having the RIP use the profile, and the profile set the ink
settings... but RIP manufacturers are wary of anything beyond their control,
and insist on having all sorts of canned profiles, ink limits, and other
settings in the RIP... which I can live with as long as they can be turned
off!
