Hi,
I have a pre-press client who uses it and it is very good for all of their
needs. They are using it for running an Epson 10K. The only workflow it has
a problem with is one bit tiffs, but since they don9t need that it works
fine.
It is advertised a visual rip and is usually marketed to the high-end ink
jet market such as for Photographers. This rip is easier than most of the
other popular rips I have seen (such as the BEST RIP) and you don9t have to
have a degree as a color engineer or in computer science to set it up. And
if you are familiar with creating and using profiles you can probably avoid
using a consultant. But it your not icc or profile savvy my client tells me
it is worth the price of the hired help.
We have also found that their tech support so far has been responsive and
intelligent. Currently Image Print runs on Windows and it has very good
connectivity to PCs and Macs. I am told that by the end of the year it will
run on the Macintosh. Some of my clients who have seen it and are waiting
for the Mac version to avoid the headaches with Windows.
It is not perfect, but I like this RIP.
