Several years ago the company I worked for did some licensing business with
Corel. This was about the same time that Corel got into the stock photo
business, using Photo CD as the image format (mid-1990s?).
This much I know: the original photographs came from many different
photographers, on many different photographic media, were scanned at many
different labs and under many different scanner setups. I have worked with
quite a few of these images myself and they are all over the place WRT
color. I do not believe you will find a single profile that will "fix" them
all.
At the time, we provided Corel with software to do an adaptive translation
from Photo YCC color space (the native color space used in Photo CD) into
RGB. This worked very well, but you needed to import each image
individually, since each had its own unique problem.
