I agree. I've done several side by side tests with both devices to RGB and
CMYK output devices and see no differences at all in the output. Nice to
have both (grin) but if I had to pick one, especially for travel, the EyeOne
wins hands down.
I made my first CMYK output profile to a contract proof using the EyeOne and
the new 3.5 EyeOne target and the results were excellent. In the past I
always used the 6.0.2 extended target with the Spectrolino. I would like to
see that target supported with the EyeOne anyway (as an option for us anal
users). The process to use the EyeOne to measure the 3.5 target was
incredibly fast and easy (took a fraction of the time compared to a
Spectrolino/scan).

I've produced really good RGB profiles for ink jets but I think if you are
serious about CMYK output profiles, you'll want the control provided in
ProfileMaker Pro. For the audience EyeOne match is aimed for, even a CMYK
profile using fixed settings would work pretty well compared to the
alternative (a canned profile).
