When the company I used to work for bought an EverSmart Pro I asked how much
an extra glass base would be, thinking of oil mounts and also the very real
chance of damage to the glass. The Scitex Rep quoted us a price of between
$250 and $300 USD. That was about four? years ago. The glass in the top
assembly is not that different nor is it that difficult to remove and
replace. It would seem the top glass would be about the same cost.
Sounds to me like someone misunderstood what you needed or didn't know how
to use the parts database. If, indeed, the top glass is only available with
the entire transparancy top, CreoScitex is poisoning their own well and
driving customers away with with short sighted greedy policies.
