I have a couple of questions about Silverfast and Colorsync.
I have a profile for my monitor and scanner. I don't have the IT8 function
in my Silverfast so that is not an option. I see two workflows:
1. I can set up the Colorsync in Silverfast and let it scan into CMYK
2. I can scan into RGB and then use Profile to Profile to convert from my
scanner profile to my working space of Adobe RGB. After corrections I can
use Profile to Profile again to convert to Euroscale coated or SWOP.
Which would be a better workflow? What is the difference between the two? I
am looking to match my monitor image as closely as possible to what will
appear in the newspaper I work for. Accurate colour to the original image is
not that important but pleasing colour is. I would like to be able to
correct visually and have the image look close to what appears in the paper.
I understand this depends on the printer to some extent but I would like to
get as close as possible.
Thanks,
