Hello John.
There is a good solution for such problem: Imation Color Fidelity Module
(CFM). You have 3 option in it. You can either use black generation from
destination profile, or set black generation you want(GCR, UCR, TIC...) by
CFM control panel, or use source file black generation (I think, CFM
evalulates black generation in source file and then adjust black generation
settings in transformation table in accordance with calculated one). I've
tried CFM and it looks very usable if you need to preserve black generation
from source to destination file.
