Which reminds me of a story ...
Several months back I went to the paint store for a neutral gray for my
digital darkroom. I ended up talking with a salesperson with 8 years
experience, but who had never had an application for neutralizing ambient
lumination. I first picked a swatch, obviously from the "gray" range of
swatches ... and asked which paints went into the bucket for creating this
particular mid-range "gray". She looked it up and we were both surprised to
find out the mixture required an "orange", a "blue" and "white"!!!
Needless-to-say, we continued with other swatches and types of paint (pearl
finish) until we came up with a mixture of "dark-gray" and "white".
