Roberto Michelena:
All of them, however, only drive one printer per Rip. As is true of
BestColor too.
Can someone point me to proofing Rips that can truly drive multiple
printers from a single Rip/server box/license?
By "truly" I mean each printer has its own profile or linearization, or
even different models as I believe some can do...
Scanvec-Amiable's PhotoPrintServer allows multiple setups for
multiple printers. However I haven't ever had a chance to prove it
because, well I'm stupid and I can't figure out how to setup the LAN.
I'm PC/MAC user, not MSN god, and I haven't bothered to read the
@#$%%^^ manual!
But I do have 18 individual setups for each proof and print workflow
I've characterized, which is pretty cool. And I've moved on to
hooking up (parallel) to other printers, profiling using the optional
ColorCal package, then save the setup for LAN use once I read the
@#$%%^^ manual!
Version 2.6v1 is a big step forward (good) but includs a manual which
ends more or less at v2.0 (bad). The profiling package is pretty good
(good) but support knowledge regarding profiling seems vague at best
(bad). A lot of the issues we wanted to avoid from Onyx are not there
(good) and the only thing I have yet to do is figure out the PC
networking (bad) because you can drive multiple printers
simultaneously (as best that means) as long as the setup doesn't
share the same address or connection in their setups.
You can test drive PhotoprintServer at if your web speed is up to it.
