Well, that would assume that the CMM is involved in building the
profile. But the point is that the CMM is not involved in building
the profile, only in applying the finished profile to color
conversions. Not even just a tiny little bit involved-:).
The CMMs are just calculation slaves. They do not play the part often
attributed to them by virtue of the name they carry. 'Color
Management Module' or 'Color Management Method' indicates that the
CMM is doing the color management, but it's our profiles that do the
color management. Whether that is the way it should be, that's
another discussion.
Meanwhile, you'll be entirely happy with the Apple CMM as Default
CMM. In fact if you can tell the difference, you're likely to be a
color scientist.
