Hi there:
I know a little bit about colorsync (I understand the basic concepts of
converting between color models, etc.) but I'm having major problems with
making colors consistent between applications.
The problem is this: A CMYK value specified in Photoshop or Illustrator,
then placed into Pagemaker, will not print the same as the identical CMYK
values specified directly in Pagemaker. There is obviously some sort of
translation going on, and I can't seem to get to the bottom of it.
We are already having color woes galore, what with trying to make three
separate Minolta CF911P printers print consistently, and match each other
(your condolences are appreciated!). I bought a spectrophotometer
(refurbished Colortron II for $99) with a thought of abandoning the
printers' own calibration procedure (which basically doesn't work) in favor
of using some profiling software (don't have it yet) to create custom
profiles for each printer, and doing this once a day or so.
If anybody has any tips, suggestions, or can help with some of the problems,
please reply by email to email@hidden.
Thanks,
Gord.
