3) Along the way we discovered a serious bug with Photoshop and the ACE CMM
and Apple CMM. The input profile can now have A2B0 (Perceptual),
A2B1(Colorimetric) and A2B2 (Saturation) tags. In the input profile, vendors
are starting to put different information in each of these. When using
Convert to Profile in Photoshop 6 the Apple and ACE CMM always use the A2B0
tag even if the user asks for Colorimetric or Saturation. This is not what
is expected. Thanks to Monaco Systems for help in sorting this one out. The
bug is fixed in Photoshop 7.
I would dispute calling this a "bug", given that Photoshop 6/ACE 1
(and the Apple CMM) were published before the ICC changed the
specification to allow input profile to contain multiple intents.
In any case, Photoshop 7/ACE 2 has full support for this new feature
of the ICC specification, along with full version 4 ICC profile
support.
