I'm doing quad black separations in Photoshop, printing CMYK to Epson
printers with my own custom ink set. To preview separated images, I've
made CMYK profiles in Photoshop using Custom Ink Colors from L*a*b*
values of ink swatches and Dot Area curves measured with a DTP-41.
This worked well with matte papers, but I've just started working with
lustre papers, and the previews are wacky. I suspect the much lower L
values of the 100% ink may be messing things up.
I also have ProfilerPro, which can build CMYK profiles. Is there some
way I could use that to build CMYK profiles I could use to preview my
CMYK quad black separations?
Thanks,
Richard Wolfson
