Subject: Quite a difference between Photoshop 6 and 7 PANTONE Lab
values?
From: Roger Breton <email@hidden>
To: Color List <email@hidden>
Anyone compared the differences between Photoshop 6 and 7's Lab values for
the PANTONE Solid Coated Swatches? It's like day and night! Makes you wonder
which are the *real* (if such thing could be) PANTONE Lab colors? What
happened between 6 and 7 ? (I did not compare Photoshop 5)
Sometime ago, I've use to compare and show off to people in X-Rite
Colorshop the acuracy of my old Colortron II (was new back then)
measuring a few swathes on the Pantone booklet and increasing the AE
value around 5 would show the same Pantone Name on the software
(these used to be like magic here). I don't miss either one of them
now.
Now with new Pantone Swathes out I have no idea. Guess stick with PS7.
