No, you don't need SpectroChart for making automatic measurements as long as
you're using Gretag's standard testcharts or simple custom charts of your
own. SpectroChart is only necessary if you want to create your own
"proprietary" testchart designs. Actually, if you're good with a text
editor, you can "roll your own" charts.
