I'm afraid this is a misunderstanding.
If an application has a K 100 object in space A which it wants
matched to space B, then that is by definition a color match which
requires that the incoming K 100 object be converted into a composite
CMYK object unless it so happens that K 100 in space A and K 100 in
space B are the same measured color.
The LogoSync CMM is used in iQueue where DLPs are supported. If the
DLP is built to preserve the black channel, then that is how the
objects get matched. If memory serves then the manual clearly says
that it is possible to build DLPs to preserve the black channel, but
that this is not the only way to do it, just an option among many
options.
Hello Henrik,
First of thank you for your reply. As a sidebar, I am aware of your
first point thank you for
Taking the time to explain it in more detail for the list. In my
defence I wanted simply to
Point out where in the process the 3cK was being generated so that Lee
could understand that it
Was not a profile issue but the actual way in which the profile data was
being utilised in the CMM.
ICC, as I am sure you are aware, is not an entirely exact science;
however, if the CMM (Logosync or
Otherwise) within the Postershop had an option, Like Iqueue or Praxisoft
Autoflow, that mapped 100K
to 100K then Lee would not have his problem. Unless of course he has
already found the option due to
The information on the post. I think we will both have to play with
Postershop to be sure. Any ONYX
Takers out there to defend their product.
I am aware that the LogoSync CMM utilises DLP's within Iqueue, one of my
favourite apps may I add. I am
Just not convinced that Postershop uses the latest version of this CMM.
In defence of Gretag I was not trying
To point the finger or associate blame moreover I was trying once again
to get to the root of the problem. Oh! those other
Options you refer to: I agree but many of them are not suitable for
workflow purposes and in most of the usable cases the
Client is having to buy software. But who are we to complain?
Thanks again and I hope things are going well for you.
Regards,
Niall
