From the responses I have concluded that it is not possible to preserve
the black.
This is an unfortunate situation for graphic arts proofing where black
only scree tints, halftone and images with k-only drop shadows are in
widespread use.
For me as a businessman it represents another issue.
It breathes new life into our Iris and Kodak Approval devices.
I will inform customers of the limits of the technology and let them
choose.
