Try editing the data that you measure. IOW print a lighter or darker target
so that you fool PM into creating the profile that is closer to what you are
looking for. Using Photoshop to reverse engineer the printed target is a
very powerful editing tool. Selective color, hue, saturation, density even
white point is all there, just backwards.
For some reason this has always worked better for me than Profile Editing.
